Having successfully completed my BA hons. In Contemporary
Applied Arts at Cumbria Institute of the Arts, I have
moved home to Fort William, to set up my own studio.
My work is
mostly inspired by landscape either real or imagined I
wish to create places of comfort and wellbeing where
conversation can take place.
During my
time at college I was fortunate enough to receive funding
for a placement in Finland, which resulted in the Craft
Council choosing a piece based on the silver birch forests
as part of the "Making it" project. I also won the
Architects Plus Award for Drawing, which allowed me to
visit the island of Tiree to do some visual research from
this I created my degree show.
I am a member
of Applied Arts Scotland, The Ayrshire spinners and
weavers, The Embroiderers Guild, The Guild of dyers
spinners, and weavers and The Scottish Storytelling
Association.
